Maybe not the best, but definitely the longest docu-drama about the Manson Family murders, this remake of the groundbreakingly exploitative 1976 TV movie has everything you’re come to expect from a Manson Family hoedown: crazy ladies, mumbling, bad planning, flashbacks galore, and hippies talking nonsense through the fog inside their heads for three consecutive hours. Plus several unlooked-for bonuses, including extra mumbling, the best Crazy Lady roles this side of 24, and anachronistic homemade music you’ll be glad you can’t hear.
